Identification Notes:
Spores are white; Growth of up to 4 inches; cap diameter of up to 3 inches. Craterellus fallax (Black Trumpet) has been shown to be a distinct species with salmon-buff spores that add their color to the underside of its fruiting bodies. Craterellus foetidus (the fragrant black trumpet) gives off a sweetish smell and has decurrent veins.
